This is a training programme tailored for passionate and talented dancers aged 13 and above. The Scholar Programme aims to equip aspiring pre-professional dancers with the technical foundation, artistic development, and professional skills needed to pursue a career in ballet.

Aligned with BTM’s mission to “create a viable and sustainable career pathway for local students aspiring to become professional dancers in Malaysia,” BTM scholars will have the opportunity to participate in company productions and may be considered for full-time positions with the company.

OVERVIEW

Under the leadership of Executive Director Rachel Chew and a team of esteemed faculty members, the BTM Scholars Programme is designed to cultivate the next generation of exceptional dancers in Malaysia. Scholars will receive rigorous, professional-level training, performance opportunities, and mentorship that prepare them to step confidently into a professional career in ballet and beyond. 

TRAINING INTENSITY

Part-time: 12 hours / week 

Full-time: 18 hours / week 

DURATION

Full academic year, divided into 3 terms (44 weeks of training)

ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT

Scholars must maintain at least 90% attendance throughout the year. 

With classes running for 44 weeks, scholars are entitled to 20 additional leave days to accommodate school commitments and exam preparations. 

Consistency, punctuality, and professionalism are essential qualities expected from all scholars. 

FEE STRUCTURE (Year 2026)

Part-Time Programme: 12 hours / week, 528 hours / year. 

Annual Fee: RM18, 480 (RM6,160 per term)

Full-Time Programme: 18 hours / week, 792 hours / year

Annual Fee: RM27,720 (RM 9,240 per term) 

SCHOLARSHIPS

Full or partial scholarships will be given to scholars who display exceptional talent, dedication and potential during the Scholars Audition.
